All I got for Christmas was … Information Overload

This year there have been a ton of free giveaways. Should you be thanking Santa, or could the grinch be behind it all?

A few years ago Mark Hendricks started up his now famous 12 Days of Christmas promotion, and it was a huge success.

This year seems to be the year of the copycat, and Mark’s concept has been ripped off by a ton of other marketers. Right now I know of over 300 free gifts being given away on various Christmas / Holiday / Santa / Some Holiday theme promotions, and I think this is actually a very bad thing.

For the most part, people go for crazy for these free gifts because they think they’ve found a goldmine. They think they’re going to be an expert on everything … but all they’re really going to get is confused!

Thanks a lot Mr.Grinch.

If you’re one of the thousands of people who are taking advantage of all the giveaways this time of year, I have a little advice for you.

I’m not going to tell you not to grab as much stuff as you can, because there’s actually a lot of good stuff being given away … but be very selective in what you actually use.

Rather than diving into an ebook on joint ventures, then a different one on autoresponders, and another on upselling, and another on physical products … take a little time and think about what you really want to learn.

Within a few hours you could easily have over 10,000 pages of Internet Marketing information, but don’t even thing about reading it all …

If you want to know how the smart marketers are going to take advantage of all that free information, stick with me here :-)

  1. Pick Your Topic - Just ONE Topic
  2. Pick Three or Four Ebooks On That Topic
  3. Print Those Ebooks ( Yes, onto real paper )
  4. Grab Your Highlighter and Dive Right In

Once you’re done with all four of the ebooks go back and compare what you found … do you see where I’m going here?

If you see the same thing mentioned over, and over, and over in all the free ebooks you downloaded … do you think you might actually be on to something?

I’m going to be brutally honest with you … The majority of the stuff you download from these free giveaways is going to be absolute garbage. And I’d be willing to bet that at least one of the three or four ebooks you pick to print won’t be worth the price of the paper you printed it on …

That being said, when you put together the collective of three or four ebooks, even if one or more of them is junk all by itself, you can probably find at least a few powerful strategies if you’re really looking for them.

That’s all for now …
