My Take On The Warrior Alliance / Quick Pay Pro Battle …

Alright, for those of you who have no idea what the heck I’m talking
about … here’s the short version.

About a week ago Allen Says of the Warrior Group opened up a new
site called the Warrior Alliance.

No big deal right? Well, maybe not …

The first “product” you got with your Warrior Alliance Membership is
an affiliate management system that is based in large part on the features
of a couple popular systems, including Quick Pay Pro.

This new “product” included resale rights so you could modify it, expand,
sell it, basically you can do whatever the heck you want to with it …

Now, here’s where it gets sketchy.

Dustin, the owner of Quick Pay Pro claims that the programmers Allen
hired sold Allen the source of the actual Quick Pay Pro system with just
a few minor tweaks.

Honestly, I don’t know if it’s the truth or not, and I don’t really care at
this point.

Why not? Two reasons …

1. Allen’s not dumb enough to knowingly steal the QPP code.

2. If Dustin’s programmers sold the code to Allen, Dustin’s issue
is with the programmers that sold the code to Allen .. not Allen
himself.

I’m not a lawyer ( you didn’t think this was a law blog did you ;) ), so
don’t consider anything I say here legal advice …

Anyway, back to the story at hand.

I’m one of the 500 members of the Warrior Alliance and today, after I
sent out a promotion for the Quick Pay Pro source code I got … well, a
few not so nice emails.

I don’t know Dustin or Allen personally. Dustin because he and I just
haven’t had the chance to meet. Allen because he doesn’t meet anyone,
it’s part of his persona online …

So, I did this promotion for the Quick Pay Pro source and all the sudden
I have a flood of people bashing me on the forums for supporting what is
a competing product to that being offered by the Warrior Alliance.

I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m never putting all my eggs in
one basket.

I’m not going to blindly choose one over the other without taking a hard
look at both … and since both offer re-sell rights, and I’m a programmer,
I may tear apart both systems and merge the best of both into one script
of my own.

The big backlash came because a few members of the Warrior Alliance
think I’m “taking sides” by letting my subscribers know about the Quick
Pay Pro source code.

Actually, I’m the only one NOT taking sides. Not all of my subscribers
and customers are Warrior Alliance members.

Should I prevent them from getting access to this kind of code simply
because they’re not a “Warrior”?

The other knock on me is that I’m hurting the potential future sales
of Warrior Alliance members … because the Quick Pay Pro source
code is a direct competitor to the Warrior Alliance code.

Well, here’s my take on that.

I’m going to sell products that directly compete with what others in
the Warrior Alliance are selling.

I’m sure that other members of this Warrior Alliance are going to sell
products that directly compete with what I’m selling.

The Warrior Alliance code itself was designed to allow member of the
Warrior Alliance to compete with a member of the Warrior Forum.

The Warrior Allliance code will put several member of the Warrior
Alliance in competition against each other.

All that being said … I stand firmly behind my decision to send out a
promotion for the Quick Pay Pro source code.

Competition happens … get over it!
