Your Plan For 2006 …

Hello again,

Over the past few weeks I some pretty nasty emails from a few subscribers … which I thought was a little odd considering I hadn’t sent anything in a while.

It turns out, that’s why I got the nasty emails in the first place!

Why didn’t I get a ‘Happy Holidays’ email? Think you’re better than me or something?” one said …

Well, I’m not quite sure how to react to something like that, other than to say … No, I don’t think I’m better than you.

So, before I get any more nasty emails … HAPPY NEW YEAR! ;-)

Now that we have that out of the way …

Actually, I didn’t send out a ‘Happy Holidays‘ email because I took a much needed break … 2005 was a big year for me.

This year I launched three successful list-building websites at http://www.thelistmachine.com, http://www.tripleyourlist.com, and http://www.yourluckylist.com.

None of these sites could have been as successful as they’ve become without you … Thank you!

I also spent plenty of time hopping across the country this year. I attended Mark Joyner and Gary Halbert’s “Fusion” seminar in Miami, Michael Penland’s Joint Venture Conference in Orlando, as well as speaking at Ken Calhoun’s MegaSeminar in Denver, Mike Filsaime & Paulie Sabol’s Internet Marketing Main Event in Phoenix, and Robert Puddy’s “Focus” Seminar in Charlotte.

This year I also ran my first private coaching course called “The Sum Of The Parts” …

And, as if that wasn’t enough, I re-vamped and re-released my “Tracking Ace” script and did not one, but two of my “Nickel Mania” promotions in just the last few weeks of the year …

Needless to say … I needed a break. ;-)

I needed a little time to re-fuel my batteries because I’ve been busy gearing up for what looks like it’s going to be a huge year in 2006.

You see, I have a plan …

I’m have a line of 5 websites that I’m going to be rolling out over the next 7 months.

I know which site is coming first, why it’s coming first, how it’s going to tie into the second site, and so on …

I also have two joint ventures I’m working on, am already booked to speak at four marketing seminars this year, and plunked down $3,000 to attend another.

And that doesn’t even make mention of the fact that I’ve already created two stand-alone products. ( One of which you should be on the lookout for in early January ;-) )

Now I rattled all of that off for a reason …

You can clearly see that I’ve been busy, and that I have a plan … Can you say the same?

Before you answer that … please realize that I’m not asking if you
are going to be rolling out 5 sites in 7 months …

What I’m asking is, do you know what you’ll be doing next month? How about in March? Or even in July?

If you can’t honestly say that you know what you’ll be doing over the next few months, please, keep reading …

2005 was a great year for me, but it wasn’t as good as it could have been …

I’ve learned a few things this year that are going to take my business to levels in 2006 that I couldn’t have even dreamed of in 2005.

I doubled my income from 2004 to 2005, and I plan on doing the same or better this year because of a few key things …

Would you like to know what they are?

Well, I’m not going to tell you … not yet anyway.

What you need to know first is that I left something out when I mentioned my dramatic jump in income.

Yes, I know it sounds great on the surface to have doubled my income in 2005, but what you didn’t know was that 2004 was one of my worst years ever.

I made one huge mistake, one that I’ve learned from and won’t let myself make again …

What was that mistake?

I lost focus!

My strengths have always been email marketing, list building systems, and idea generation … but for a reason that I’ve yet to figure out, I lost sight of that in 2004. :-(

I migrated away from email, forgot about list-building, started trying too many new things, and got away from what I do best …

DUMB!

And my bottom line showed it …

In 2005 I re-dedicated myself to doing ONLY what I do best, and obviously … it has really paid off.

In 2006 I highly recommend that you find your “focus”. Figure out what it is that you do best, stick with that, and put yourself in a great position to maximize your potential for profit in the new year.

Another mistake I made in 2004 was getting a big head …

In 2004 I stopped buying ebooks, stopped listening in on teleseminars, and made very few purchases to continue my online education … because I thought I knew it all.

VERY DUMB!

No matter how smart you are, how much money you’re making, or how many successful products you’ve created … you never know it all.

Now, I want to make something clear here … because the two key points I just talked about may seem to contradict each-other somewhat.

You might be wondering …

How can you focus on the one thing you do best if you’re always buying the “hot” new product?

And you may also be wondering why you see me promoting products and services that don’t seem to be directly related to the things that I have chosen to focus on … right?

Well … that reason for that is actually quite simple!

When I purchase a product, I don’t always take it at face value.

For example, a product like Frank Kern’s Underachiever Marketing System may not seem like a great fit for a list builder like me … but only if you’re not looking at it right.

While I may not be interested in creating “niche” websites myself, there are a few traffic generation strategies, profit identification systems, and search engine tricks that can easily be applied to the things I’ve chosen to focus on …

Basically, I look for techniques outside of the “normal” places and put them into place to give myself an almost unfair advantage over the competition …

But, that’s only a part of the puzzle …

Another reason that I did so well in 2005 was due to growing network of friends, business partners, and the creation of my personal “mastermind” group.

As I mentioned above, I spent a good part of the year attending and speaking at offline marketing events…

Now I know that some people out there are under the very misguided impression that offline events are nothing more than “pitchfests” … but that couldn’t be any further from the truth.

I just dropped almost $3,000 between the attendance fee, hotel, and airfare to attend Yanik Silver’s Underground Seminar coming up this March … and I couldn’t be happier.

The education you’ll get, and networking opportunities available at these events make it more than worth your while to attend … trust me.

And yes, I know that $3,000 is a lot of money … much more that you might have in the bank right now, but don’t let that automatically disqualify you from getting the benefit of attending an offline event in 2006.

If money is tight … prove to yourself that you are serious enough about really making it online by following this very simple plan …

Pick up a cheap piggy bank at the store … the kind that you have to break to get it open. ( This will really make you think about breaking it … and evaluate your drive to be successful if times get tough )

When you get it home, write the word “Success” on it in permanent market ..

Then make it a habit to drop your spare change in it at the end of every day, and drop in a $10 in it every Sunday night …

Come September, you’ll be ready to go!

If you keep putting that money in, just $10 and your spare change … I promise you that your investment will pay off.

To prove how strongly I believe in the power of offline marketing events … I’m going to help a few lucky people get on their way!

If you’re one of the first 10 to post a picture of your piggybank with the word “Success” written on it … also post your PayPal email address and I’ll send you $10 to get you on your way.

Then, if you prove you’re serious enough and we meet up in person in September I’ll do you one better … I’ll multiple that $10 times ten and give you a crisp $100 bill in person.

Yup … you read that right…

If you prove you’re serious about getting to an offline event … I’ll get you started on your way, and if you get there in September then I’ll give you and extra $100 out of my pocket when we meet up …

Sound fair?

I thought so too. ;-)

But wait … did you notice that I just mentioned a date in September?

That’s right, I have parts of my plan mapped out well over 9 months in advance because … Success isn’t an accident!

Now I don’t expect you to be able to map out your plan for online success quite as far out as I’m able to ( I already know my strengths and have been at this for 7+ years ), but if you don’t know what you’ll be doing come February … you have a problem.

Don’t panic! If you’re really serious about making it online, but haven’t found your “focus” yet, make that your plan for the first few months of 2006 …

Yes, that qualifies as a plan. ;-)

The sooner you find your “focus”, the faster you’ll find success …

In wrapping this up … I know that got a little long, but I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read not only this post, but my other emails throughout the year as well.

Without you I wouldn’t be able to stay home do the the job I love the most … staying home and being a father to my 2 little girls.

So thank you, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart …

Thanks & Good Luck,
Gary Ambrose

P.S. I look forward to seeing your comments below. ;-)

P.P.S. If you’re one of those people who hasn’t found your “focus” yet, be looking for an email from me this Sunday.

P.P.P.S. Wow it’s been a long time since I posted to my blog … I promise you’ll see a lot more from me here in 2006, as well as a complete re-design!
